  1. Greetings to all my old Oshkosh friends. It was soooo good to meet many of you again last year. I moved out of Oshkosh in 1968 by joining the Marines. I spent 4 years in the USMC (3 in California and 1 in Vietnam). I fell in love with California but then I had heard the Beachboys in the mid 60s singing about endless summer and girls in bikinis year round. I lived in the Redwood Forest (4 years) getting a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and working with developmentally disabled adults. I met and then married an actress who got her Masters Degree in Acting from USC. We have lived in a variety of California cities:Arcata (4 yrs) Los Angeles/San Pedro (3 yrs), Santa Rosa (1 yr), Crescent City 2 years, Redding (10yrs) and Chico (3 years). Then my wife got offered a position teaching grad school at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa....what a mistake and we started looking for work again. She again got a better job offer than me and we were off to Orlando where she taught from 1997-12/15. We are now retired and enjoying the grandchildren from our 2 children. WE live in Winter Park which is a suburb of Orlando. I enjoy growing Orchids and other tropical plants in this climate. Upon retirement, I built some fish ponds that are connected with a stream. So, I am now an officially "dottering old man" who enjoys talking to his fish (koi) and plants.
